Automated 3D Rigid Registration of Open 2D Manifolds

AbstractWe present a robust method for 3D rigid registration of 2D open
manifolds based on distance maps using an initialization step, a
Gibbs sampler for optimization supplemented by an Iterated
Conditional Modes (ICM) optimizer. The algorithm is fully
automatic based on very simple information of the initial
orientation of the given objects.
