Research area: NONLINEAR LATTICES

Biomolecules and molecular crystals are modelled by nonlinear discrete lattices. In contrast to the continuum model transport of collective excitations is affected by pinning. Long-range dispersive and nonlinear effects provide multistability phenomena. Blow-up on discrete lattices reduces to enrgy location at a few sites and creation of discrete breathers. Quantum lattices are applied to describe energy localization in molecules and molecular systems.
