Abstract: The Hertz and triangle models of soft impact, transition cross grazing bifurcation boundaries, weak and strong regimes of periodic impact motions, bifurcation diagrams, phase trajectories, basins of attraction, Poincare maps, negative clearances - static prestress of impacting bodies, transition into impactless motion.
