Abstract: Heisenberg model of ferromagnetic spin systems in the classical coninuum limit with diffrent magnetic interactions have been identified as an interesting class of nonlinear dynamical systems exhibiting soliton and integrability properties. Often, integrability occurs in these systems for specific parametric choices. When electromagnetic field interacts with ferromagnetic medium the magnetisation of the medium is excited in the form of solitons and the electromagnetic wave is also modulated in the form of solitons. Depending on the direction of propagation of the electomagnetic wave the dynamical equation reduces to modified KdV or NLS equation.
