Abstract:
The macroscopic dynamics of a population of globally and strongly
coupled oscillators with natural frequency mismatch essentially reduces
to that of few degrees of freedom. Such order paramaters are
systematically derived by means of a series expansion around the mean
field. This allows to describe the asymptotic as well as the
transient behaviour of the population, and in particular the
bifurcations among differrent collective regimes.
