at MIDIT, IMM Building 305, room 027

Abstract: We plan to present a comprehensive overview of the recent progress in the study of the dynamics and stability of Bose-Einstein Condensation of cold alkali atoms. From the viewpoint of Nonlinear Physics, this is related to the study of nonlinear localised modes of the Gross-Pitaevskii equation in a parabolic potential created by a magneto-optical trap. Some recent progress of the experimental research and its link to the theory will be overviewed as well.
