Abstract: In this lecture we give a general introduction to the technique of the coordinate Bethe Ansatz for solving quantum 1D integrable models. As working example we use the Heisenberg quantum spin chain. The Bethe equations and the spectrum of the commuting set of conserved quantities will be derived in details for this model. The QISM formulation of the Bethe ansatz method will be briefly discussed.
