Projects from January 2017 for course

02321 Hardware/Software Programming

These projects are are done by the first generation of IT-Electronics Diplom students at DTU. For programming the FPGA we've used a tool called Vivado. The FPGA used is a ZYBO board from Digilent. This board has 2 ARM CPU's embedded in the same chip as the FPGA and high speed connections between the two, making many different hardware-softeware desgins possible.

The projects are presented in the order that resulted from the project competition that was held at the end of the course. The projects are presented with a large audience in mind so they focus on the end result rather than how the students got there. All the groups have created their own hardware platform by configuring the FPGA and an application that runs on their platform. The sofware runs on one of the ARM CPUS but controls the hardware implemented on the FPGA.

At the end of the course an Open House event was organized, where anybody that wanted to see the projects done by the students during the 3 weeks period was welcomed. During the open house event each participant got a voting ticket where they could select the top 3 projects that they liked (in the order of preference). Since the voting was opened to an audience with varied backgrounds it should be seen as a popularity contest of the various projects implemented by the students. This has nothing to do with the academic evaluation that the teacher has to do to evaluate the projects. After counting the votes expressed these are the results obtained by the projects:
