(1) in Århus, the normal model for a PhD study is the 4+4 model, and so the expected duration of a PhD study here is 4 years. Some students have a master degree when they start, and they are accepted with a 1 year credit. In our PhD database such credits are added to the actual time spent to make all numbers comparable. Above, we have therefore subtracted 1 year from all study times to make it comparable to the expected 3 year study of the other institutions.
