Scientific Computing Section

Scientific Computing is the use of computers to solve problems from Science and Engineering such as  energy resources exploration, materials science, ocean wave simulation, control and optimization of energy systems, development of medical systems, and High Performance Computing (HPC) including the use of Graphical Processing Units (GPUs).

The solution of today's challenging problems requires sophisticated mathematical methods and numerical algorithms, as well as the use of High-Performance Computers and Graphical Processings Units (GPUs). The central research topics in the section for Scientific Computing are numerical algorithms and their efficient implementation. Our main research areas are:

Our group's expertise and interests include most of the aspects of Scientific Computing: from modelling the physical phenomenon, designing, analysing, and implementing the solution methods to applying the methods to the solution of real problems.
