DTU Data Analysis is a special unit at DTU Informatics that provides consultanct on statistics and software development.

In addition to minor informal collaborations there exists two models for collaboration between DTU Informatics and internal partners:
- In model A, an employee from the inquiring department is placed at DTU Informatics in a limited period of time, typically one year. The employee is responsable to the Head of DTU Data Analysis (DTU Informatics) and works under the guidance of DTU Informatics. The inquiring department commisions projects, which are solved by the employee in question. The amount of work corresponds to the employee's usual working hours, but in some cases DTU Informatics may choose to solve the task using a team of it's employees. The inquiring department transfers the the amount of money corresponding to the salary of the employee + an additional overhead covering administration and other indirect costs to DTU Informatics.
- In model B, a specific task or portfolio of tasks is solved by DTU Informatics. The tasks are usually a part of an externally financed project, carried out (mainly or partially) by the inquiring department. We work on a “fair share” basis. That means: In the project budget, a separate post is specified for consultancy work carried out by DTU Data Analysis - the post includes the expected wage for the employee carrying out the task as well as the same overhead set for the rest of the project. Furthermore, using the same “fair share” principle, we expect to be offered co-authorship if relevant and reasonable, and also a share of any IPR we might have contributed with. Running cost statements and project accounting are dealt with using the standard rules of DTU.
