A new unit at DTU Informatics is now available to everyone at DTU in need of help regarding experiment planning, statistics and other kinds of data analysis at a high professional level.
DTU Dataanalyse is headed by Bjarne K. Ersbøll
Bjarne Kjær Ersbøll and his newly founded section DTU Dataanalyse will be in dire need of calculators larger than the one shown in the photo, if the section is to manage DTU’s expectations of strengthening the statistical and data analytical support.
As of January 1st 2010 DTU has chosen to focus on this area in particular because the availability and amount of data has increased within both public sector consultancy and research projects:
“In the past, gaining access to data was difficult and costly but thanks to modern computers figures are now pouring in – something that DTU Dataanalyse now wish to help take effectively advantage of,” says Bjarne Kjær Ersbøll who has taken up a newly established professorship in connection with the founding of DTU Dataanalyse.
The overall objective of DTU Dataanalyse is to ensure that experiment planning as well as statistical and other types of data analysis in DTU research projects remain at a high professional level. In close collaboration with the institutes of DTU, the unit will participate in research projects and provide guidance and advice. In addition, Bjarne Kjær Ersbøll would also like the section to contribute with research in statistical and data-analytical methods in areas which specifically strengthens innovation and public sector consultancy.
